Play Airways is the motion graphics and animation team of Kent Hugo, Josh Raskin and Alex Kurina who all maintain an oddly scientific approach and ability to deconstruct and reconstruct concepts in a purely creative way.
The three Canadian art school grads found themselves working with everyone from FITC to MTV to Sprite. Not bad for a trio who claim their schooling and training was guided by "opium-smoking hippies." Play Airways is now best known for their unique hybrid style of 2D meets hand-drawn meets 3D, and for their bizarre sense of humor. Their quirky projects have earned plenty of praise, accolades, and awards, which they insist includes a Boards Magazine award in the "best young kids who hit the mark right before breakdown" category, as well as a Nobel Prize from many years ago.
