Yves Geleyn
Kotori
An animated short, Kotori depicts the chagrin of a bird who returns home to find a stump where its stately home used to be. Missing little time in grief, inventiveness prevails as the bird creates an ersatz tree with string, and perches happily. You need only to note the eeriness of the clouds in the film and the stump that remains in the shot to see that the filmmaker, Yves Geleyn, likes to touch the bird's success with a delicate lash of darkness.
