| Moving with the industriousness of a virus binding with fresh DNA, the type and characters in Julien Vallee's film peel themselves free from the sentences that once held them and then paste themselves where they like. If this sounds suspiciously Dada-like to you - good; the title of Vallee's film is a homage to the German Dada-friendly artist Kurt Schwitters. With an extremely fine touch rarely seen in stop-motion film, the Montreal-based Vallee creates an ant farm-like film to view the lives of letters unguarded. |
