| In the play "The Fugitive Kind," Tennessee Williams wrote about a bird with no feet that had to stay constantly in the sky. Similarly in the film "Pump" we see a cyclist travel through a city ceaselessly pedaling. Super 8 cameras mounted on the bike take in both the city and the whirring machinery of the bike. A high metabolism film, burning up the city like a runner's stomach full of semolina, this film notes the anxiety and energy spent just crossing town. |
