“Feeling My Way” is an animated account of a walk to work through the streets of London’. We share the traveler’s experiences: his idle thoughts and repetitive neuroses and see his mental reactions to the trials and triviality of daily life. Hi-8 video footage digitized and printed using an inkjet printer is combined with drawings, text and paint.
Jonathan studied at Liverpool School of Art and the Royal College of Art, London. He set up an animation production company, Sherbet, with producer Jonathan Bairstow in 1996 and his own company, Hodgson Films, in 2003. His films fall between documentary and experimental animation and usually avoid conventional narrative, being largely based on observation and personal experience. In 2000 he won a British Academy Award for Best Short Animation, and “Feeling My Way” won the ZKM Media Art Prize. |
